I have been a Certified Public Accountant for 44 years with 31 of those years as part of my own Heinz & Associates practice in Clarendon Hills. Just as important as our tax practice, we run a charity called Scoreboard Charities that has raised and donated $1 million over the past five years. We have funded cancer research at Lurie Northwestern and camps for kids with cancer at Camp One Step.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My wife and I live together in Hinsdale. No kids, just two dogs.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Life is taxing enough. We try to make the tax return process easier.

Nabuki, Vistro Prime, and Topaz in Burr Ridge

Michael Jordan

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Germany. I’d like to find my ancestors going back further than my great grandparents.

Princess Bride, Hoosiers, M*A*S*H

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Work hard, play harder

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I want to go to the Masters. Tax season always gets in the way.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Van Morrison. I realize that’s not a band but his musicians are always terrific.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The trees, the landscapes and lawns and flowers. I love to walk the streets.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Staying in Hinsdale but getting a few months of warmer winter weather somewhere.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have one of the best sports memorabilia collections in the area.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Kauai

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
November 1st. It’s All Saints Day. I was an hour from being a goblin instead of a saint.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
My wife’s cooking.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My Mom and Dad, now both deceased. My Mom’s heart and my Dad’s passion for business.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
chocolate, wine

Wife, dogs, peace, sleep….I guess that’s four.
