Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Sean Davy, and I am a married father of two wonderful boys and the Administrator at The Pearl of Hinsdale Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
I love spirituality, sports, and spending time outdoors whenever I can.
Tell us about your family.
Family is everything to me. My wife, Luda, and I have two sons—one is seven years old and the other is two—so life at home is always busy and full of energy.
I grew up nearby in Brookfield, and today we live in Carol Stream. Being close to family and raising our children in the western suburbs is something we really value.
My older son is very active in sports—especially baseball and soccer—and I love watching him explore those interests. My younger son is still discovering the world, but I’m sure he’ll soon be keeping up with his big brother.
Tell us about your education and hobbies.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Benedictine University and later completed my MBA at Elmhurst University.
Outside of work and family life, I enjoy spending time outdoors whenever possible. Fishing is one of my favorite ways to relax. If there’s a river, lake, or pond nearby, chances are I’ll try to fish there. I especially enjoy freshwater fishing and simply walking along riverbanks and exploring nature—even when the fish aren’t biting.
I also enjoy playing soccer and going to Chicago Cubs games whenever I can. My son Noah and I have a tradition of attending the Cubs Convention together each year.
Tell us about your current career and what you love most about your work.
I have been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for about five years. My journey into the role began when I worked in admissions at a rehab and long-term care facility and gradually learned more about the industry.
As I gained experience with the operational and financial side of healthcare, I realized I wanted to become more involved in the leadership and care coordination that happens daily in a nursing facility. I began studying while working as an assistant administrator and eventually earned my license.
I began working for Pearl Healthcare, serving first as Administrator at The Pearl of Rolling Meadows, and for the past two years I have been the Administrator at The Pearl of Hinsdale.
What I love most about my work is finding solutions for people—whether that means helping residents recover from illness and setbacks, assisting families through challenging transitions, or supporting staff members who care for others every day.
It’s incredibly rewarding to build relationships and help people heal in multiple ways—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Do you have a favorite restaurant in Hinsdale?
One of my favorite quick lunch spots is Fontano’s Subs.
It’s a great place in downtown Hinsdale and always hits the spot for a quick, satisfying lunch during the workday.
How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I grew up in Brookfield and attended Lyons Township High School.
I have worked at The Pearl of Hinsdale for the past two years, and during that time I’ve had the opportunity to build strong relationships within the community and work closely with many local partners.
Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in our community?
One group of people I truly admire in this community is the Hinsdale first responders and paramedics.
Our facility works closely with them, and they play an essential role in helping us care for our residents. We interact with them regularly, and their dedication, professionalism, and compassion make a tremendous difference in the lives of the people we serve.
We simply could not do what we do without their support.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to visit Madagascar.
My late grandfather was a theologian who spent time there doing missionary work, so it’s a place that has always fascinated me. The unique nature, wildlife, and culture make it a place I would love to experience someday.
What is one of your favorite movies or TV shows?
Right now I’ve been watching the Netflix series The Night Agent.
I tend to jump between different shows occasionally, but that’s the one I’m currently following.
Is there anything else in the community that is important to your work?
Local hospitals are incredibly important partners for our facility.
We work closely with physicians and care teams from UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale as well as Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.
They are essential partners in caring for patients who transition between hospital care and rehabilitation or long-term care.
What advice would you give to people?
I usually try not to give unsolicited advice unless someone asks for it.
But if I had to share one principle that I strive to live by, it would be humility. I believe humility is the foundation that allows other positive traits and values to grow.
It’s something I’m continually working on myself.
Do you have a bucket list?
I don’t really keep a formal bucket list, but if I did, it would probably include some memorable fishing trips. I love freshwater fishing.
I would also love to attend a World Cup game, a World Series game, and a Super Bowl with my sons.
What is your go-to music when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I usually listen to modern Christian music. One of my go-to stations is K-LOVE Radio, which is always calming and uplifting for me.
What local business makes you the most nostalgic about the community?
Since I grew up nearby in Brookfield, there are many places in the western suburbs that bring back memories from childhood.
Hinsdale itself has a wonderful mix of longtime local businesses and new establishments that help create its unique community character.
If you could have lunch with anyone alive today (not a relative), who would it be and where would you go?
I would probably choose Derek Jeter, who was one of my favorite baseball players growing up.
We would grab lunch at Fontano’s Subs right here in town.
What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
One thing that stands out to me about Hinsdale is the collaborative spirit of the community.
There are so many people from different backgrounds and professions who genuinely support one another. Whether it’s local businesses, families, healthcare professionals, or community organizations, there’s a sense that everyone is working together to lift each other up.
That sense of connection is something very special.
Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?
I try not to focus too far ahead because life can change in unexpected ways.
What I do know is that I’m incredibly grateful for where I am today—my family, my work, and the opportunity to serve people in this community. My goal is simply to continue growing, learning, and helping others wherever I can.
What’s something interesting most people don’t know about you?
I participated in a Little League Home Run Derby at Wrigley Field when I was about eight or nine years old.
I also ran the Chicago Marathon.
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve been?
Two of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve visited are:
• Kyiv, Ukraine, where my wife is from, just prior to the war there
• Various cities in Morocco during an undergraduate study-abroad trip, from coastal cities to sand dunes in the desert
Favorite month, holiday, and best single day of the year?
Favorite Month: Any warm spring or summer month
Favorite Holiday: Christmas
Best Day of the Year: My wife’s birthday, our anniversary, or my sons’ birthdays
What would you rate 10 out of 10?
Scoring or assisting a great goal in a soccer match—one of the best feelings there is.
Who inspires you to be better?
God, my family, and my colleagues at The Pearl.
What are one or two of your favorite smells?
Portillo’s cheese fries.
What three words come to mind when you think of “home”?
Family. Faith. Peace.
