Tell us about yourself.

I graduated from DePaul University, but before that, I was a swimmer at the University of Tampa. I also worked for Walt Disney World during college as a character performer, which helped me come out of my shell and embrace an animated personality—something that’s been invaluable in my sales role today. After college, I joined my family’s landscaping business, King’s Landscape Design, and I’m now the Director of Sales. We have about 15 people in the office and around 100 in the field, making it a substantial operation. I’m proud of our Hinsdale roots and excited to continue growing our family business.

Our family business was started by my grandfather in 1959 and taken over by my father, Mark King, in 1988. My mother, Noel, is the CFO, and my brother handles supplier relations, while my sister is a pilot for United Airlines. We’re all based in Downers Grove and Hinsdale, so we’re close-knit and have a deep connection to the community.
