I am Jessica Garrett and I am the Owner & Artistic Director of Dynamic Perception Dance Company in Westmont IL. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with my B.A. in Dance Education & Choreography and am celebrating our 11th season in Business. I grew up in a small town in Central Illinois, moved to Chicago for College and now reside with my family in the Western Suburbs. I am additionally a Board Member for the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and soon to begin my position as Vice President of the Board of Directors. I also serve as the Creative Director for Pas De Deux Dance Photography Conference.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am married with a 1 year old: Mabel Lynn. My family is very big in my life and I love to celebrate with my entire extended family as much as possible.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Dance Education is my passion and I love being able to be a part of every dancers journey through life.

I’ve met so many wonderful people its hard to choose just one
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Hawaii. I love vacationing there.

Kindness will always get you the furthest. You choose your happiness.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Bob Fosse, I adored his style of Choreography and what he did for our dance community. I would take him to Beatrix.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the small town feel with the option of the Big City so close by.

Continuing to build my business
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I love bluegrass music and my father is a bluegrass musician

Hawaii
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I love Fall, October mostly. I love Christmas and giving presents to everyone. And the best day on the calendar is always our year end Showcase.
